English Chardonnay
Whitewolfe prides themselves on being Chardonnay growing specialists, producing the highest quality grapes for some of the best English wine makers. Clones were chosen based on their suitability for the chalk soil on the North Kent Downs allowing premium quality grapes to be sustainably farmed for English still and sparkling wines.
KC1 English Chardonnay 2022
KC1 has lifted aromas of fresh lemon peel and flint. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, silky mouthfeel and elegant structure. Well-defined notes of crushed oyster shells, lemon and subtle oak lead to a long, mineral finish. Last few cases remaining.
KC Series
The ‘KC’ series was developed as an innovative range of Chardonnays from the Whitewolfe Vineyard, in the Kits Coty region of Kent’s North Downs.
Using a range of winemaking techniques, such as different yeasts, press fractions and oak barrels on the different clones, the resulting wines offer distinctive and varied expressions of this unique site. We will continue to make this series into the future, with KC1 offering a mineral expression, KC2 being defined by power and excellent structure and KC3 as bright, vibrant and highly drinkable. You may even see a KC4 one day!
